I freaking love this place!!!!! Best clam chowder hands downnnn! Wings are superb, their late night pizza's are cheesy and delightful, steak tips are cooked perfectly and they fill up your wine glass for about $7!

Irreplaceable!! You don't get these prices anymore for great comfort food in JP, for a place with décor that screams nostalgia and still attracts great local crowds.

    Def recommend!

Me and my husband went there to watch the game and have dinner. I had went once before with a co worker and I had a great experience. The food is fresh and they have big portion sizes.

My second visit was the complete opposite. The bartender Jill is very rude. After settling the bill she confronted me about not leaving her a tip. One: I didn't like how she rushed us to settle the bill instead of just starting a tab for us. And coming back to us a couple times to settle up after we took a few minutes since we didn't think there was a rush since we were still ordering and watching the game.

But most of all Two: I didn't have it. I usually get my bartenders the next time I return if that happens. I was gonna order a cheeseburger to go, but I felt extremely uncomfortable after that. I didn't even feel comfortable asking any of the other bartenders for anything because she went to each one showing them the bill and how I didn't write in a tip. We definitely got a weird vibe after that so we just decided to leave.

Me and my husband were hoping for this to be our go to place, but we were really let down by Jill's attitude. We might return and sit to eat instead of going to the bar, but we're definitely not in a rush.

Galway house is more like a pub. No hostess so on busy nights you wright your name on a white board and a waitress will come call a name when a table is ready. Or open seating at the bar. There are a pretty good amount of seats at the bar however the area is narrow so on busy nights it might get crowded.

THE BEST part about this place is the food and the portion sizes. They really take care of you at the Galway House in that department. Seems like a ton of food for just $12-16. Each entree comes with 2 sides and a soup or salad. I've had a very good prime rib and salmon. The salmon wasn't my favorite but it did have a glaze on it that made it enjoyable.

The staff has always been very nice and pretty funny. Making jokes and interacting with one another and guest.

Great place to hang out and have some drinks with friends and watch any game.

Thought hard about a 4 star here. Maybe I'll raise it  after I'm able to come a few more times and try some other food options.

If your looking for a dive bar in Boston suburbs this is the place. Food and alcohol are dirt cheap. Even if you weren't in the city they would be considered cheap. Hard alcohol and beer selection is endless. The food comes in huge portions little on the greasy side kinda feel like your going to have a heart attack after you leave. Our bartender was awesome and the atmosphere reminds me the movie goodfellas when he's at the bar right before he goes to prison only problem is it's the middle of August and they still have there Christmas decorations up. From what I'm told they don't take them down.

What a hidden gem this place is! It's really hard to find affordable good food in the Boston area and Galway House has it down. The restaurant itself is pretty casual looking but once you sit down and start tasting the food you realize how extraordinary it is. The dinners are all really great value for money as you get a mug of clam chowder and two sides with any dinner you order. When seated we were served bread and butter which was still fresh and warm. The clam chowder was creamy and tasty I inhaled the whole mug. I ordered the shrimp cocktail as a starter and they give you a good amount for only $7. I also ordered the fried chicken dinner as a main. The portion is HUGE(check out my picture!)! Definitely enough for two people to share. It was also really tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides I got, Mac and cheese and summer squash. They were both really bland and I wish they used real cheese for the Mac and cheese and just a little more seasoning for the summer squash. I'm happy we found this place and I'm really looking forward to going back,
